Deputy Chief Executive Officer, STOA
Marie-Laure Mazaud is Deputy Chief Executive Officer of STOA, the investment arm set up by Caisse des Dépôts (CDC) and l’Agence française de Développement (AFD) in November 2017, in charge of investing equity and quasi equity in infrastructure and energy projects in emerging markets.
She has an extensive experience in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, project finance and governance.
Marie-Laure joined from CDC group where, as Senior Executive Director, she oversaw the transportation practice between 2013 and 2017. She also served as Managing Director at Alcatel-Lucent (2008-2013) covering international financing, credit and cash management worldwide, as Director of sales financing and treasury for Europe & South between 2004-2007 and as Head of Structured and Project Finance at Coface (1997-2004), intervening in multiple sectors (energy, oil & gas, telecoms, metals, transport) and supervising multi-source financing.
As board member for more than 12 years in corporations, Marie-Laure currently chairs the audit and risk committee of FM Group and Wafa Assurance and seats as independent board member at their respective board. She is also a non-executive director of Nachtigal Hydro Power Corporation (NHPC) in Cameroon and of Metro Fibre Networx (MFN) in South Africa and is a member of their specialized committees.
Marie-Laure holds a Masters in Corporate Finance from Lyon Graduate School of Management (EM Lyon), a degree from Lille Graduate School of Business (EDHEC) and a BA in Business Studies from Brighton Polytechnic.
She enjoys ski touring in the Alps and electric bike both in the mountains and abroad.
